A Side Project

Posted in Uncategorized on October 15, 2010 by frankgidlewski

So this was a little side illustration project I did for a buddy of mine during one of his interships in Harrisburg. It’s for a politician, who I can’t remember, but politics isn’t my forte. The cartooning is. I did these in a sort of symplistic UPA style, but I don’t think I went enough down the UPA avenue. Live and learn. I’m getting much better with the inking on Illustrator thanks to Sherm Cohen’s tuturials (check out his blog at CartoonSNAP) but I’m still not happy with the coloring. I keep using Live paint and it sort of skews the drawings when I do that, so I got a new program called Art Rage to color with, but that makes things look very painty……basically I just gotta figure out a better solid coloring method. And fast. But for now, they liked what I did, and I hope you do too!
